Account Questions
I cannot log in
Passwords are case sensitive - check the Caps Lock key. If you have lost/forgotten your password, a new one can be emailed to you by following the link on the login page.
I have lost the password AND changed email address
How very careless of you. As your email address is used to reset your password, and you need the password to change the email address, there is no solution to this. You're on your own.
Are cookies required?
No they are not. If cookies are disabled, there are 2 main differences: links within the site get a lot longer, and the 'remember me' option does not work logging in. Everything else is exactly the same.
I can log in just fine, but I keep being logged out after a while:
You are logged out automatically after 30 minutes of no activity. Select the 'remember me' option when logging in to prevent this. (This only works if your browser supports cookies).
Only use this option from your own home computer - do NOT select this option from a shared or public computer, as the next user could tamper with your account.
I can log in just fine, but when I give my password to a friend ...
Yes, you are logged out when your friend signs in. For security reasons, multiple logins are not supported. Please ask your friend to create their own account (it is FREE after all).
Can I have multiple accounts?
You can, however each account must have a unique email address, and there is no facility for combining/merging accounts. Therefore any stats earned for a particular account remain with that account forever.
Also note that creating another account to spam, make defamatory postings or generally cause mayhem and disruption will result in ALL of your accounts being deleted.
Is the login secure?
Yes, the password is SSL encrypted when you log in. Even though the login form might be displayed on an insecure page, the details are submitted using SSL encryption. If you examine the source code for the page, you will see that the login form POST action starts with https:
All account pages are SSL encrypted, and changing primary details (such as email address) require that you enter your password again, even if you are already logged in.
Your password and user name are NOT stored in a cookie or anything else on your computer (unless YOU selected that grossly insecure 'password saving' option in your web browser)
Names and aliases
Real Name
The Name option is for your real name. This will only be displayed to others IF you select this option in your profile. Do not enter fake names here.
Alias / username
This can be anything you want, BUT do not use rude or obscene names. Likewise, do not attempt to impersonate other users by using a lowercase L instead of the number 1, the letter O instead of the number 0, or similar shenanigans. Unwanted names are liable to be deleted.
