Emulate That Spectrum - Stage One

First you will need to download an emulator. Spectaculator for Windows is presented here, mainly because it works on all versions of Windows from 95 to XP, it is easy to use and it emulates the Spectrum exceedingly well.
This is a trial version which can be used for 30 days.

Start by clicking here.
You should see a box asking you to save or open the file - similar to this:
File Download Choices - Windows Internet Explorer
Choose the Save option by clicking on the Save button. (Outlined in red on the example above). This may be slightly different on your computer, depending on which browser you are using.

You will then see something similar to this:
File Save Dialog
Click on the top 'Save In' box and select Desktop from the list. Once Desktop is selected, click the Save button. (Location box and Save button are outlined in red on this example).
You will now need to wait as the file downloads. This will take several minutes if you are connecting to the Internet using a dial-up modem from the last century, or more likely just a few seconds with a broadband connection. Either way, this only needs to be done once!

What! Something not working?

If this doesn't seem to work, try clicking here with the right mouse button. A small menu should appear. Move to the Save option and click it.
The file save box should now appear, - select Desktop and click OK as described above.

When the file has finished downloading
